Description

...this is an experiment, mind you...
I really want to find a style of coloring that's just mine. Cell shading is wonderful, but it's not too original, neither is uber-realistic. So I'm experimenting in Flash.
I like how images drawn in Flash are vector-based so you can scale them infinitly without distortion or loss of image quality. This is something I have been pondering about... You see, nearly all my art is drawn pure digital. I rarely scan my sketches and ink them in OC anymore--everything is digital, 100%. Because I work all digital I'm less hindered by things like scan quality and such. However, as a draw-back, my images are drawn at screen resolution (72 dpi), making it near impossible to use my pictures in print media without suffering severe distortion. Flash images can be scaled to any resolution, making them the perfect vehicle for my print-media works. However, Flash is really hard to work with, as you can see with this picture.
*cough*
End my rambling, down to the picture:
Just an experiment, not my actual gift pic for Leslie (she wanted ekigyuu in the pic, anyways), but I want to post it because it looks dandy.
Sketched in OpenCanvas 1.1, inked and colored in Flash 5. Finished in 13 hours straight. I've been up for 25 hours, thank you.

So in other words, Dylan, the resolution has made it near impossible to have cell-shading, cuz it gets pixilated after?
